How to create an "Addon" domain Print

Note: this article does not apply to our plans that host only a single domain. If you are using one of those and would like to upgrade so that you can add other domains please open a help ticket and request an upgrade.

"Addon" domains are a way that your hosting control panel, cPanel, lets you add additional domains to a single cPanel account.

Login to cPanel for the account where you want to add a domain. Look for an icon labeled "Addon Domains". If you don't see it please open a help ticket and ask us to enable it for you. Then fill in the form like this:

New Domain Name The domain name - do not include "www", "http://" or "https://" in this field.
Subdomain Let cPanel fill this in for you.
Document Root You can change this if needed, but we recommend leaving it as is because cPanel sets it so that it will be clear where the site's files will be stored.
Create an FTP account associated with this Addon Domain Your cPanel login can be used to access ALL addon domains in this account, but if you need an additional FTP login which will have access to just this domain you can check this box.
